On Tuesday, The Discovery Channel released its first 30-second trailer for Phelps vs. Shark, which will see Olympic champion racing a great white shark during the cable network’s fabled Shark Week.
During a brief snippet of race footage, Phelps can be spotted wearing fins.
Is that cheating? Maybe, but it probably won’t make a difference. As Bro Bible notes, while the fins might increase Phelps’ top speed from 6 to 12 miles per hour, great whites can reach maximum swimming speeds of 25 miles per hour.
I still want to know what is going to keep the shark from eating Phelps...
