The Juice is about to be let loose.
After serving nine years of a 33-year prison sentence for the robbery and kidnapping of a shady Vegas sports memorabilia collector, O.J. Simpson was unanimously paroled by the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners today.
The 70-year-old former NFL star is expected be released from Lovelock Correctional Facility in October.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you," Simpson said after he learned his fate, whereas earlier in the hearing he dubiously claimed to have lived a "conflict-free life," adding, "Nobody's ever accused me of pulling any weapon on them."
Simpson’s extraordinary sentence was thought by many to be retaliation for his controversial acquittal in the grisly murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and a male acquaintance, Ron Goldman. In a subsequent civil trial, O.J. was found liable for killing the pair, and ordered to pay the Goldman family damages of $8.5 million, which he’ll presumably continue to work off once he’s a free man. At that point, it's believed he'll return to Florida to get on with his life.
