Help Us Kick Kawasaki Disease This Saturday in Windsor

I am very honored that my new friends at the Kawasaki Kids Foundation asked me to be a part of their 5th Annual Kickin' Kawasaki 5K coming up this Saturday in Windsor. Not only is it a great event, but it gave me such insight on something I really had no idea about, Kawasaki Disease.

Simply stated, Kawasaki Disease is the #1 acquired heart disease in young children 0-5 years of age. Without treatment, about 25% of children develop heart disease involving the coronary arteries. Timely diagnosis (to prevent complications KD needs to be diagnosed within 10 days) and treatment (which usually includes intravenous gamma globulin) is highly effective in preventing coronary complications.

Therefore it is crucial to raise awareness so folks know the signs and we can save kid's hearts.

Your chance to help is this Saturday near the Island at Water Valley in Windsor for the Kickin’ Kawasaki 5K. A family friendly, kid-oriented race/walk dedicated to growing awareness and raising money to KICK Kawasaki Disease.

Come meet my new pal, Cooper, who is the inspiration for the race, and really a real life inspiration to all who meet him, and also have some fun with me.
