UFC 249 Features a Colorado Fighter in the Main Event

Finally the UFC returns this Saturday, May 9th. And it'll be easy for people in Colorado to pick a favorite in the main event as one of our own is part of that fight in Justin Gaethje.

Gaethje is based out of Arvada, Colorado, and wrestled for the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. He went on to earn the first Division I All-American honors in the program’s history, placing seventh in the 2010 nationals. He then went on to become a World Series of Fighting champion, and now sits as the number four ranked lightweight in the world.

Saturday's fight won't be easy for the Coloradan, though, as he is set as the underdog, and faces Tony Ferguson who comes in on a 12-fight winning streak and hasn't lost since May 2012.

Most experts predict the winner of this fight will get a title shot next against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Good luck, Justin!!
