Colorado Group Makes, Donates 'Soup Can Heaters' For Homeless

A group of kindhearted folks in Denver have been advocating for the rights of people experiencing homelessness in their city. The Wall of Moms wants to help keep folks living on the streets warm as temperatures fall below freezing in the area, so they’ve been busy building “soup can heaters.”

They’re candles made with soup or soda cans, or terra cotta pots, and a tea light candle and they can provide hours of light and some warmth. They’re designed to help the homeless be more visible in the dark and to help them keep warm in their tents. The Wall of Moms also walked around passing out their soup can heaters to the homeless.
