ZaNia Stinson is already working to make the world a better place and she’s only 14. After growing up in a women’s shelter, the Charlotte, North Carolina, teen is now paying it forward to help the homeless in her community.

When she was nine, ZaNia started Z Feeds Go-Go Bags, which are filled with nonperishable food, personal hygiene items and water. She’s already made and given away more than 800 of them. Her family keeps them in the car to hand out to people on the streets and she donates the bulk of them to The Salvation Army. Her kindness project won her a $3-thousand grant this year through the Riley’s Way Foundation’s Call for Kindness competition. That money will help her make a lot more bags for folks in need.

“I’ve been doing this to help others because I know how it feels to not have food and to not have anywhere to stay,” the teen explains. “It makes my heart happy that I am able to give back to people and make their day just a little bit better.”
