Here's Tuesday's Life Court...
Scott and Sadie,
I need Life Court to settle an argument between my wife and me. She feels sorry for her brother. He just celebrated his 35th birthday and never seems to be in a relationship much more than five or sox months.
My wife gets upset at women who kick him to the curb. She thinks he is just too nice. She thinks he epitomizes the "nice guys finish last" saying. But she gets mad at me when I say it has nothing to do with him being nice - it's that he's weak.
I don't buy the "nice guys finish last" saying - it should be "weak guys finish last." The difference between a nice guy and my brother-in-law, a weak guy, is night and day. He simply doesn't stick up for himself. He's a doormat. He's stuck in middle management and the middle class because he's a pushover and never sticks up for himself. There are plenty of nice guys who have a backbone and they don't finish last.
But my wife thinks I'm being mean to her brother. So in Life Court, ask your listeners: I think it has nothing to do with being nice and everything to do with being weak.
Thanks,
Anonymous
