Here is Friday's Life Court...
Scott and Sadie,
I'm to be married in June to a great guy. We've decided to hyphenate our last names. My last name is Allison. His last name is Zink.
He wants to be Zink-Allison. I very much appreciate the fact that he's open-minded enough to accept my name. I understand that he is enough of a "man" that he wants his name to come first - I get it.
But I have one very practical reason for wanting to be Allison-Zink - the order we'll be in the alphabet. If we put my name first, our kids will always be at the front of the alphabet, which is a big deal in school!
If we put his name first, our kids will always be last.
That's a real thing for me! He thinks I'm silly. So in Life Court, I'd like to hear what your listeners think. I think there are big advantages to having a last name that begins with "A" rather than "Z." Amy I wrong?
Thanks,
Kelly
Okay - this one is different. What's your advice for Kelly in Scott and Sadie's Life Court?
