Cops Got Called on Chickens in Greeley Twice in the Last Month

Once a week or so, my hometown newspaper, the Greeley Tribune, puts together what they call their Cop Log. Basically they compile the weirdest stuff that the cops encounter over the last month or so in Greeley and Evans, and print it for the world to see. Today, it's a couple of stories about cops responding to calls about chickens...

Jan. 28, 1:15 p.m.: Police received a call from the 200 block of 17th Avenue. The caller reported a neighbor had thrown a dead chicken into the caller's backyard.

Jan. 30, 10 a.m.: Police received a call from the 500 block of 35th Avenue. The caller said a neighbor was keeping chickens in the dark. The caller felt that was abusive but was told there was no city ordinance regarding chickens being kept in the dark.

This comes a day after a weird Craigslist Missed Connection in Colorado having to do with a chicken, by the way. What is up with all the weird chicken stories around here lately?

See the rest of this week's Cop Log here.
