Help is Needed to Renovate Fort Collins' Drive In Theater

The Holiday Twin Drive In will open for nearly the 50th season tonight (May 5th). However, 50 years has done it's fair share of wearing and tearing on the Fort Collins landmark. Now the theater is asking for help to renovate and save it.

According to the Coloradoan:

In a Kickstarter campaign published Thursday, owners of the beloved summer stop said they'll begin a two-year process of redesigning, renovating and updating the drive-in.

The first year of the project would be dedicated to redesigning the drive-in and applying for the necessary permits, the campaign said. Year two would be dedicated to the renovation work.

The $350,000 project would include an update to the almost 50-year-old building that houses the drive-in's snack bar, restrooms, projection booths and storage space. A new electrical line would also be installed.

The goal is $25,000 raised. As of Friday afternoon, just over $7,000 had been raised so far.
