Tomorrow (June 2nd) is National Donut Day. Yes, there really is such a thing. Of course, we, and by we I mean I, probably didn’t need an excuse to eat them, but it is a good excuse to celebrate them.
I have always said I have two weaknesses, donuts and ice cream. For three days out of every year I get to celebrate. There are two other donut holidays besides the one we celebrate tomorrow, the origins of which are obscure. International Jelly-Filled Donut Day is widely recognized as June 8 (occasionally as June 9). National Cream-Filled Donut Day is celebrated on September 14. And, the Christmas of donut holidays, National Donut Day, is on the first Friday of June each year.
