You Helped Us Find Homes For Over 20 Homeless Dogs at the Greeley Stampede

I take you back to our conference room here at the radio station early this year. We were brainstorming ideas on what we could do that would be fun and interactive at our booth at the Greeley Stampede this summer.

After going through numerous ideas, someone shouted out that we should have a puppy play pen where folks could come pet cute puppies, because who doesn't love that.

We all agreed that this would be awesome, but after quite a bit of searching we didn't find anyone who had dogs they were willing to bring to the Stampede.

Honestly we were worried about an animal shelter because we just weren't sure if we could trust all the dogs, but we called the Humane Society of Weld County anyway and they were amazing to work with. They assured us the dogs would be great for this and had volunteers bring a few dogs to the Stampede each night.

Needless to say it was a huge hit, and most importantly changed the lives of over 20 dogs who got adopted because of this crazy idea we had a few months ago.

My favorite story is that of Ulga. A pitbull mix who had been in the shelter for over nine months. Most wouldn't even consider her because she got a little crazy in her kennel. However, out and about she was the most loving thing you'd ever seen. Someone fell in love with her at the Stampede, and her nine month stay is now over, and she has a family.

Thank you to everyone who made this a crazy idea a huge success!!
