Like much of Colorado, Conundrum Hot Springs is a breathtaking piece of nature that many people flock to see every year. However, there is a bit of an issue with a place that attracts so many and has nowhere for people to relieve themselves.
The popular trail and hot springs outside of Aspen has seen the number of visitors has increase by nearly 300 percent since 2006, and they all have to go potty somewhere.
So there is a lot of human poop and it's starting to get messy and stinky.
So much so the U.S. Forest Service is considering requiring visitors to pack their waste out with them when they leave.
They have already begun giving bags, similar to the ones you put your dog's poop in, for your own poop at the trailhead.
Moral of the story here, go to Conundrum Hot Springs because it is awesome, but take your poop with you when you leave.
