A Snake Caused 6,500 in Northern Colorado to Lose Power Last Night

I consider myself pretty brave, but there is one thing that you'll never find me around and that is a snake. The only thing worse than snakes is snakes in the dark.

Xcel Energy confirmed today that it was a snake that climbed 12 feet off the ground and into some equipment at a Johnstown substation last night, leaving 6,500 people in Platteville, Johnstown, Milliken and Loveland without power.

The snake also caused a small fire that was quickly extinguished.

However, if it makes you feel any better, the snake did not survive the ordeal to wreak havoc again.
