WATCH: The Scariest Carnival Accident Ever Was Caught on Camera in Ohio

I try not write about bad news, but after watching this video, I found myself in such shock/horror, I felt like all i could do was write about it...

One person was killed and several injured on Wednesday evening when a ride broke apart in midair on the opening day of the Ohio State Fair.

Graphic video of the accident filmed by a bystander shows the Fire Ball swinging back and forth like a pendulum; as it passes close to the ground, one arm of the ride appears to collide with the ground or another part of the ride's machinery, causing the arm to break off and passengers to fall from the sky.

According to the Fire Ball manufacturer, the ride is meant to swing riders 40 feet above the ground while spinning at 13 revolutions per minute.

"I have ordered a full investigation into this incident," Ohio governor John Kasich said Wednesday in a statement. "A fair is about the best things in life, and tonight, with this accident, it becomes a terrible, terrible tragedy."

Today, Kasich ordered all rides at the fair closed until a thorough inspection is completed, although the fair will go on.

A similar ride at the California State Fair has been shuttered for the time being as well.
