I always say not to believe everything you read on the internet, but for the second time in a couple of months, some jerk that wrote a fake story fooled me.
Despite what I, and maybe you, may have read online this morning, Willie Nelson is still very much alive and kicking.
According to Nashville's FOX 17, a radio station claimed in a social-media post today that the "On the Road Again" singer was on the road to heaven, but calls to Nelson's publicist placed by Radio.com and other outlets have now confirmed that Nelson is still with us.
The 84-year-old crooner has been the subject of so many death hoaxes that he even recorded a song about it called "Still Not Dead" for his album God's Problem Child. It contains such lyrics as, "The internet said I had passed away / but you can't believe a damn thing that they say."
