Pro Supercross Racing Returns to Greeley this Weekend

Some of the fondest memories from my childhood include my dad and some motorcycles racing in the dirt at Island Grove Park in Greeley. Your chance to make similar memories and have a great time doing it, come this Saturday (August 24th).

While growing consistently since the ’70s, in the early part of the 21st Century Supercross’ popularity really took off. In the United States, Supercross races today are the second most popular form of motorsport behind NASCAR.

Although we don’t have the Jeremy McGrath’s, Ricky Carmichael’s, or Ryan Villopoto’s of the world coming to Greeley, the best riders in the region come to compete at Island Grove. Plus, the little guys are always fun to watch on their 50 and 80cc bikes, and there isn’t a better place to watch Supercross in my opinion.

Join Greeley Supercross for all the festivities this Saturday (August 24th). The action all starts at 5 p.m. with qualifiers and the pros take to the track starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are a great value: Adults are $15, kids 6-12 are $10, and kids 5 and under are free. They can be purchased online here or at the door.
