Colorado Man Attempts and Fails to Launch World's Largest Firework

Anytime anyone puts blood, sweat, and tears into something, it makes me sad when they fail, but this almost seem destined to have an issue.

When you take something super dangerous like a firework, and then try to create the "world's biggest," I feel like you're playing with fire, literally.

After spending a month of 8-hour days working on the project, a pyrotechnics expert, tried to launch the 62-inch diameter shell from the top of Howelsen Hill Ski Area in Steamboat Springs on Saturday night, but it exploded too early. The firework was supposed to shoot about a mile into the sky before combusting.
