A viral post on Reddit recently asked people "What's the weirdest rule you had in your home growing up?" Some of the answers were downright weird, others too strict, and some in between.
The weird rule I recall while growing up was my step-mom telling me and my sisters that "butt" was a bad word. We were encouraged to use the word "bum" instead. I remember one time specifically that I had a friend over to play, and I said the b-word, and got yelled at for it. I was so embarrassed that I got in trouble for that word, that I decided I would only use the word "ass" from that point forward... Ok, I made that last part up. HA!
