When Did Colorado See It's Latest Snow?

Here we are the 20th of May, and many areas around Colorado have already gotten some snow, and others are still expected to get it. It sure seems late in the season, but it's not the latest we've ever seen.

Of course the mountains are their own little world when it comes to snow, but I am talking the I-25 corridor between Fort Collins and Colorado Springs here. According to the National Weather Service, the latest date of last snow was June 12, 1947, and the latest date of last measurable snow was June 2, 1951.

Although the Gazette reports that the latest measurable snowfall in Colorado Springs was 1.1 inches on June 10, 1975, and the highest snow total for May was 19.4 inches in 1978.

Either way, anything could happen until the middle of June...
