CDC Strongly Urges Coloradans to Quit Kissing Their Chickens

I get why people would want to not eat meat, but being physically affectionate with farm animals seems like a little much!

People must be doing it though, because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending that you quit hugging and kissing your chickens.

Diseases linked to snuggling fowl are on the rise, the agency says.

According to an update, as of August 2019 1,003 people had been infected with salmonella in 49 states, including Colorado. Of those, 605 have been hospitalized and two deaths have been reported, one in Texas and another in Ohio.

It's recommended that you always wash your hands with soap and water right after interacting with poultry, and never kiss or cuddle them with your face or mouth!
