It began while most of us enjoyed time off at Christmas. We were off, too, so we didn't pay that close attention to what everyone is talking about.
Several folks who live in eastern Weld County, Logan County, Morgan County, and Phillips county - basically all of Northeastern Colorado - have reported drones flying in organized grid patterns over their homes and farms. The drones have been appearing at night. And not just the fancy drones behind lock and key at Best Buy. These drones are reported to be the big, military-style drones.

The drones stay about 200 feet to 300 feet in the air and fly steadily in squares of about 25 miles, he said. There are at least 17 drones; they emerge each night around 7 p.m. and disappear around 10 p.m., he said.
“They’ve been doing a grid search, a grid pattern,” he said. “They fly one square and then they fly another square.”
They have been spotted flying in groups - six - ten drones per sortie.
Now, at the request of Senator Gardner, a Task Force has been formed.
Pilots and drone experts have joined in the search.
Law enforcement is involved. The Lincoln County Sheriff says, “We’re desperately trying to figure out what is going on.”
According to the Denver Post, everyone is involved, "Representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration, the FBI, the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations, the U.S. Army, the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and a wide variety of local law enforcement agencies stretching from Nebraska to Colorado Springs..."
A recent story on ABC News speaks of how a state surveillance plan "loaded with sophisticated cameras and sensors" was launched Monday evening to aid in the hunt. Of course, the plane is owned by the state. And we don't trust them. In this story they compare our drone sightings to the UFO hysteria of the last few decades. George Noory stuff. Apparently we're kooks.
There's even a Facebook group with tons of pics and videos of folks tracking these things down.
