Hundreds Gather in the Snow to Honor a Veteran They Didn't Know in Colorado

Far too often in this day and age, bad news outshines good news. However, when I saw this story, I was not going to let it go unnoticed.

A 20 year Air Force veteran, Staff Sergeant Clyde Henry Baldwin, recently passed away at 91-years-old. Sadly, Staff Sergeant Baldwin only had one living family member left, she's 93, lives in Kansas, and couldn't travel to his funeral in Colorado.

That didn't mean his memorial was poorly attended, though. Hundreds in the Colorado Springs area came out, braved the snow and ice, and helped honor one of our nation's heroes, even though they didn't know him.

Staff Sergeant Baldwin fought in the Korean War, serving our country from 1950 to 1970. We thank him for his service, and some fine members of our community who payed tribute to him!
