The Colorado State Fair Still a Go in 2020, but with Changes

With so many events cancelling and postponing for the summer of 2020, our hopes weren't high that we'd have any events. However, the Colorado State Fair surprised us all in a great way today by announcing they are still a go... With some changes.

The event will go on as scheduled in Pueblo, from Aug. 28 – Sept. 7. The modified event will include “limited food and vendor booths” and a “limited carnival presence,” according to a press release. Other activities being considered during the reimagined 2020 event include the junior livestock show and sale, FFA heifer wrangle, catch-a-calf, the 4-H horse show, 4-H dog show, 4-H rocketry and 4-H static exhibits. Competitive events, including rodeos, will be virtual, the release says.

Many of the specifics for how the state fair will reopen have not yet been finalized. Gate admission to the modified version of the state fair will be free.

Although they didn't specify in the release, it would seem as though there will be no concerts as it says on their website that "2020 Colorado State Fair tickets (and gift certificates) will be honored for the 2021 Colorado State Fair. If you purchased your tickets directly from the Colorado State Fair, you also have the option for a refund by reaching out to the Colorado State Fair Box Office (refund must be requested by December 31, 2020)."
