Hikers Plan to Climb Colorado's Manitou Incline in Protest of Closure

The Manitou Incline is one of Colorado's most popular hiking trails, and it's been closed since mid-March thanks to COVID-19 concerns. So it was only a matter of time before people got antsy...

As the city continues to work on a plan to reopen the Incline, members of a local group based around the Incline say they'll be climbing the steps Saturday morning as a protest. It starts at 7 a.m.

The organizer says that the protest will adhere to social distancing guidelines, and he encouraged demonstrators to wear protective gear.

Trespassing into the Incline could cause you to face up to 90 days in jail and a $2,650 fine, according to signage posted at the trailhead.
