No More Sheet Cakes at Costco Thanks to Coronavirus

On Thursday, Costco said in a statement that half-sheet cakes aren't being sold at any of their stores in the United States, according to The New York Times.

The cakes were meant to feed up to 48 people and cost less than $20.

“To help limit personal contact and create more space for social distancing, Costco has reduced service in some departments,” the company wrote. “At this time, we are not making sheet cakes for special order.”

Some social media users complained, saying they'd only gotten the Costco membership for those cakes. “We have been members of Costco for over a decade and purchased those cakes for every excuse we could,” said one customer. Despite the feedback, there are no immediate plans to bring the half-sheet cakes back.

Let me remind you, that you can still buy like half of a cow, that feeds way more than 48 people at Costco, but good try in making a statement...
