Bear Stuck in Colorado Culvert Rescued by Wildlife Officials

Colorado plumber Kevin Deshazer said he'd just installed a culvert on a property in the Priest Creek Ranch area near Steamboat Springs, and when he returned to check the waterline Tuesday, found a bear had fallen in and gotten stuck, UPI reports.

Deshazer summoned wildlife officials, and Kyle Bond, of Colorado Parks and Wildlife was able to use a tranquilizer to knock the bear out so they could remove it. The bear was then hauled out of the hole with a tractor and towing strap.

Bond said the bear was set to be released Tuesday afternoon in northern Routt County.
