In a social media message the Colorado Rockies announced they would not be taking the field against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Thursday night's game saying, "After reflecting and meeting as a group, Rockies players have decided not to play today’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, standing in solidarity with athletes and sports teams against social injustice."
This comes on the heels of many major sports going dark last night, and continuing into tonight, to protest the shooting of Jacob Blake by a police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The Diamondbacks tweeted in response "We stand with our brothers at the @Rockies."
