What's Next for Cameron Peak, East Troublesome Fires after Big Snow

After the massive snowfall this weekend, it is looking positive in terms of containment of the wildfires moving through Colorado. Although the prospect of snow and moisture is a warm welcome to the fight, fire behavior analyst Glen Lewis said Monday night, "Basically the fire has stopped all real spread as long as that snow remains there. But it's important to remember that this is not... a fire-ending or season-ending event... In order for the fire to really go out, it's going to need a bunch more moisture on it, it's going to need to stay cold for an extended period of time, and that moisture needs some time to really soak into the fuels out there." So, it looks like the fight is not over yet, but this weather needs to continue for more final results. For more info, read here.
