The Colorado Balloon Boy's Parents Pardoned by Governor Polis

Remember the Colorado 'Balloon Boy' hoax? 11 years later, the parents behind it have been officially pardoned.

In October 2009, Richard Heene staged the video claiming his 6-year-old son Falcon was been carried away by a giant helium balloon.

The balloon became national news and was tracked by the National Guard - only to find out later that Falcon was hiding in the attic the whole time.

Heene and his wife both ended up doing jail time for their role in the stunt, but this week Colorado Governor Jared Polis granted an official pardon, saying they'd "paid the price in the eyes of the public" and didn't need to carry a criminal record for the rest of their lives.
