Here is the first Life Court of the week...
Scott and Sadie,
I have one for Life Court. Is it just not a big deal for kids to get their driver's license anymore? When I was young, I could not wait to get my driver's license. We only had to have our permits for 90-days, so I timed it out to where I got my permit on the exact day so I could go in and take my test and get my driver's license on my 16th birthday.
It meant freedom!
My oldest turned 15 about five months ago and he has absolutely no interest in even getting his learner's permit, which I believe they must have it for a full year now. I told him that he had to do the research, find a driver's ed course, and do everything else he needed to do to get his license.
He just doesn't care. Our license meant we got to go hang out with our friends. These kids do that now every night on FaceTime and social media.
So is it not a big deal anymore? I'd like to hear from other parents - are your kids the same way?
Okay - what's your advice for Nikki in Scott and Sadie's Life Court?
