A FedEx worker in Tampa, Florida saved the day for a bride in need. Pickup and delivery manager Anthony Carvajal found out her custom-made wedding dress was in transit and it wasn’t supposed to be delivered until Monday, two days after her Saturday nuptials.
Several frantic calls from the bride, as well as the groom and the rest of the wedding party and the shipper gave him all the details and inspired him to work his magic as the clock was ticking. Because it was Saturday, there weren’t a lot of people working and Carvajal did the work himself, tracking down the dress’ location and digging through packages by hand to find it. He says he had to “exhaust all options” because “she can’t get married without her dress.”
After three to four hours of searching a trailer, he found the dress and called the groom to pick it up, just in time for the wedding. “I don’t know what she would’ve done if I hadn’t found that package,” Carvajal says, “but I wasn’t going to let that be an option.” FedEx is honoring his efforts with the “Purple Promise” award, which recognizes employees who go above and beyond, and he definitely did!
