Grad parties for GED's? You decide in Scott and Sadie's Life Court.

Here is this week's first Life Court...

Scott and Sadie,

This one is simple for Life Court. Our son had a rough start in high school and withdrew mid-way through his sophomore year. He was in intensive counseling for a year, got better, got in a GED program, and will now get his GED at age 17!

My husband and I are very proud of the advances he has made so we want to send out GED announcements and throw a big party in his honor.

He blows is off and says that graduation parties and announcements are for people who actually graduate, not get GED's. We try to tell him that a GED IS GRADUATING and that he deserves a party. But we think he is still embarrassed due to past mistakes.

In Life Court, do we go ahead and throw him a party despite his protest, or let him have his wishes, knowing that he may regret it later?

Thanks - please keep us anonymous!
