Do you lie about the grad? You decide in Scott and Sadie's Life Court.

Here is Tuesday’s Life Court…

Scott and Sadie,

We are from Tennessee. My husband's job brought us to NoCo 20-years ago, but our entire family still lives in and around Memphis.

My daughter has been attending UNC. We've paid for her education. She has always had part-time jobs and in the last couple of years she has lived in an apartment with a roommate.

The whole family has wanted to celebrate my daughter's graduation, including my 94-year old grandmother. They were unable to make it the weekend of graduation - that's fine - we are planning a big reception and party for her this weekend. My parents, my brother and his wife and kids, my sister and her husband and kids, and of course Grandma were all coming and planning on turning her party into a week-long Colorado vacation.

They have had airfare and hotel booked for months - thousands of dollars spent for a total of 12-people coming to celebrate my daughter. Well, my daughter came to us last weekend the night before graduation and told us she would not be walking - she's 9 credits short because of failed classes and will need to attend school again this fall.

Well, now we're not too sure what the heck to do. Do we tell our family? Do we ask them to cancel the trip? Do we have the party anyway? Do we live the little white lie, knowing that grandma is not in the best health and may not make it to December?

I'd appreciate hearing what your listeners have to say in Life Court.
