We recently told you about a young man who walked 17 miles every day to get to his restaurant job and was given a new bicycle to help with his commute. But now we have an update to the story and it gets even better. Donte Franklin was on his usual walk in Oklahoma one day when Michael Lynn stopped and gave him a ride and shared his story on Facebook.
That post led to Donte getting the bike, but it also led to the creation of a GoFundMe page to help him get a car. Donations for Donte poured in, more than $51-thousand so far. Soon he’ll be able get out of the heat on his way to and from work by driving instead of walking or biking.
“I can really help my family with this,” he says. “It’s just a really good blessing.”
