Every weekday Shawn Patrick sheds some light on some good news with His Good Vibes Story. Here is today's...

Instead of registering for china and cookware, an Ohio couple asked their wedding guests to help them give back to causes they believe in. Josh and Heather Parr had been living together and already had everything they needed for their home, so he suggested donating their monetary wedding gifts and she happily agreed.

They wrote a little poem on their invitation to explain their charitable idea to guests. Each of them chose an organization to support and in the end, the newlyweds donated $26-hundred to the Portage County Animal Protective League and $26-hundred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

"I think it's important, because I think everybody needs a little bit of help sometimes in their life," Heather explains. "If I can be that light for somebody else or for another animal and give that assistance, then it's just obvious to me."
