Every weekday Shawn Patrick sheds some light on some good news with His Good Vibes Story. Here is today's...

A Florida woman leaves over $32-thousand to her local sheriff’s office to support the K-9 unit. When Daytona Beach resident Pamela Mobbs passed away last October at the age of 90, she left instructions that money from her estate be given to the local sheriff’s office for the department’s K-9s.

A lifelong dog lover, Mobbs had a special interest in German Shepherds. When she was a child in England, her grandfather had a ferocious guard dog that was very protective of her. Over her long life, Mobbs owned many German Shepherds.

Last week, two checks were delivered to the Volusia County Sheriff’s office for over $16-thousand each. One check is to be used to provide bulletproof vests for the sheriff’s K-9s and the other to help purchase and train new dogs.

Mobbs’ daughter Jane says her mother would be pleased to know that her donation would help to keep the K-9s safe and the sheriff’s office is pleased with the donation. “This is an incredible gift to our agency and it represents this woman’s amazing love for dogs,” Sheriff Mike Chitwood says. “Her legacy will continue to positively impact the Sheriff’s Office and our citizens for years to come.”
