Every weekday Shawn Patrick sheds some light on some good news with His Good Vibes Story. Here is today's...

We’ve told you before about the Arizona grandmother who accidentally texted a young man thinking she was sending a message to her grandson about Thanksgiving dinner. In 2016, Wanda Dench sent out a text telling her grandson what time Thanksgiving dinner would be. The only problem was that her grandson had changed his number and the old number now belonged to Jamal Hilton. The pair exchanged pictures, confirming that she was not his grandmother. But he asked if he could come anyway, and she texted back “Of course you can. That’s what grandmas do … feed everyone.”

A new bond was formed between Hilton and Dench. And every year since, Hilton updates his followers on Twitter about his Thanksgiving plans with Dench and her family. Last year, their Thanksgiving get-together was bittersweet though. Wanda’s husband Lonnie passed away from COVID-19 complications in April of 2020. But the family and Hilton felt lucky to have one another and they all got together to have a socially distanced Thanksgiving meal and to share happy memories.

Well, a couple of days ago, Hilton let everyone know that he’ll be back again to celebrate with his surrogate grandma. The tweet has racked up more than 100-thousand retweets and a million likes. Like mashed potatoes and turkey, it’s a tradition that everyone seems to appreciate.
