The father of JonBenet Ramsey, the 6-year-old found murdered in her Colorado home in 1996, is supporting a petition asking the state's governor to intervene in the investigation into her death.
Ramsey and other petitioners want specifically an outside agency in charge of the case's DNA testing. Ramsey wants never-tested-before DNA evidence transferred away from Boulder police to a different agency.
Ramsey told 9News, "Somehow we’ve got to force the police, or take it away from them, the ability to go ahead and test some of the crime scene evidence that was never tested for DNA. Why that’s never been done and will never be done by the police baffles me."
Hoping that the latest technology will help solve his daughter's murder, Ramsey added "It’ll never be solved if it stays in the Boulder Police Department's hands."
