Gabby Barrett Opens Up About Touring While Pregnant With Baby No. 2

Gabby Barrett caught up with her fans during a Q&A on her Instagram story on Sunday (August 14), including what it’s like to be on tour while pregnant.

Barrett, 22, is expecting her second child with husband Cade Foehner, 26. Last month, she kicked off the “Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour” with award-winning country superstar Jason Aldean. Barrett will leave the lineup abut halfway through the tour as she welcomes her baby boy, who is due in early November, she said on her Instagram story.

When a fan asked Barrett how she’s feeling on tour while being pregnant, the “Pick Me Up” singer shared: “Okay. I love performing. It is getting difficult though. What people don’t really see is there is a looooooottt of sitting around all day before the show.. which makes everyone groggy. I struggle with very low blood pressure almost everyday in this pregnancy which makes it hard to have energy to perform.”

Still, despite any “grogginess” during the day, Barrett is rocking her performances when she gets on stage. She shared a few photos from recent shows on Instagram, and fans gushed in the comments: “Awesome show in Chicago! Congratulations on expecting #2! You and your husband were awesoeme (sic),” “You were amazing!!!!,” “You were phenomenal as always!!! This is my 3rd time seeing you in Indy and you never disappoint!!”

Barrett, who also revealed that she’s in the process of writing her next album, announced on Mother’s Day (May 8) that she and Foehner were expecting their second child. The two American Idol alums tied the knot in 2019, and they welcomed their first child on January 18, 2021. Barrett said her daughter, Baylah May Foehner, is “funny & sweet,” and “transitioning into that true toddler voice.”

Barrett shared that although her second pregnancy wasn’t necessarily planned, it “was a clear answered prayer” and “a blessing.” She also said she and Foehner are “a bit stuck” on a name for their son, unlike Baylah, whose name came to them “right away. We will have to wait to see him.”
