Sam Hunt and his wife are “walking on air” as they raise their young daughter with a second baby on the way, all while the country star’s summer your is underway. Hunt recently talked about music and parenthood in a new interview, including the ways that becoming a father has prompted personal growth for him.

Hunt and his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, welcomed daughter Lucy Louise last year. He revealed that the couple welcomed their firstborn child “a couple of weeks ago,” during a June 7, 2022 performance at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. During Hunt’s two-night run at Resorts World Theater in Las Vegas in April, he announced that Fowler is pregnant with Baby No. 2.

“I mean, we’re just walking on air right now because we’ve got another baby on the way, and, you know, the tour is going great. Just a lot of things in life are all lining up right now,” Hunt told ET Canada. “So, you know, there are there were years there where, you know, maybe I didn’t realize how much growing up I had needed to do. And having a child forces you to do that. It shifts something in your nervous system. …(There’s) more purpose and meaning are attached to the things you are doing.”

Hunt has previously talked about how his life has “changed drastically” since becoming a dad, reflecting on “things that I maybe in the past, all of a sudden, I’m experiencing in a whole new way.”
