John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls performed some of the bandās newest songs and their biggest hits, spanning the decades during his iHeartRadio LIVE show. Rzeznik began his live-streamed, acoustic set with 1990s tracks, āSlideā and āName,ā before mixing in some of the Goo Goo Dollsā newest songs from Chaos In Bloom (and, of course, the iconic āIrisā).
The Goo Goo Dollsā 10-track project features āYeah, I Like You,ā āYou Are The Answer,ā ā a song Rzeznik previously explained is āabout being true to yourself and trying to have faith in yourself and go where the love isā ā āGoing Crazyā and other fan-favorites. Chaos In Bloom, the bandās 13th studio album that released in August, followsĀ the Goo Goo Dollsā 2020 collection, Itās Christmas All Over, and the 2019 album, Miracle Pill. The Goo Goo Dolls frontman bonded with familiar faces in the crowd and other audience members throughout the special performance on Tuesday evening. RzeÅŗnik also fielded a few questions from iHeartRadio LIVE host Ellen K during brief Q&A segments interspersed throughout the 10-song setlist during the show.
āChaos in BloomĀ reminded us how special this whole thing is and to cherish the relationships that we have together. Where we've been, and where we're going,ā Rzeznik previously said in a statement, adding to Ellen K that the Goo Goo Dollsā latest album bloomed from the chaos of the pandemic and social unrest. āI mean, there was a lot of crazy stuff going on in the worldā¦and a lot of anxiety about not knowing what was going on.ā
Rzeznik continued the performance with everything from a festive rendition of āThis Is Christmas,ā to ā90s and early 2000s throwbacks and personal moments, including opening up about his decision to choose sobriety as he introduced the Gutterflower song āSympathy.ā Find more Goo Goo Dolls music on iHeartRadio here, and listen to some of their songs below.
