When most think of the Grizwalds, they start thinking Chevy Chase… That is unless you are from Greeley, and then you think of the Greeley Grizwalds. The awesome Christmas light display at near 50th Avenue and 4th Street put on by Mike Medhurst and his family each year since 1999.
Medhurst didn’t decorate his house a few years ago because he had knee surgery, but brought back the show a couple years ago. He is back at it again this year too.
180,000 lights along with animated lawn decorations, multi-colored arches, and the neatest feature of all, the magical display is all computer controlled by 320 light channels so that the lights dance and flash in synchronicity to holiday music.
The shows will return in 2019 on November 29th.
The Greeley Grizwalds are located at 354 50th Avenue Court in Greeley. One block north of 4th Street, and 1 block east of 50th Avenue Place. When the time comes, the lights will be on 5:30 p.m. till 9:30 p.m. Sunday - Thursday, and from 5:30 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. Friday & Saturday through New Year’s Day and are synchronized to music every 30 minutes, which lasts about 15 minutes. The music is broadcast over 92.9 FM.
The full schedule is on the Greeley Grizwalds website.
