It what turned out to be a rather disturbing conversation, I was chatting with a friend this weekend and we got on the subject of spiders. That is when he informed me that Colorado has tarantulas. I laughed, but turns out he was serious.
September is known as mating season for various species of the giant spider, and it's about now (late-August) that they start migrating to Colorado.
Although, mostly in Southern Colorado, near Pueblo, there have been cases where the spiders have gone rogue and made their way to other parts of the state as they search for mates before the cold usually kills them off.
Come on winter!!
