The DMV in Colorado is catching some flack, and not because people have to wait forever...
This time it's because a patriotic guy wanted the word "AMERICA" on his personalized licence plate, and the DMV said no, it's "offensive."
Their exact words in a rejection letter were actually "This plate personalization has been flagged as offensive in the system."
The DMV has responded by saying “unfortunately, the personalized plate request system showed the incorrect unavailability message. We are working to replace that message with more accurate wording.”
