A Baby Cow in Greeley Ran Away From It's Mom to Play at the Dog Park

Once a week or so, my hometown newspaper, the Greeley Tribune, puts together what they call their Cop Log. Basically they compile the weirdest stuff that the cops encounter over the last month or so in Greeley and Evans, and print it for the world to see. Today, it's the story of the calf who ran away from mama to hang out at the dog park...

Oct. 18, 3 p.m.: Police responded to Rover Run Dog Park, 5207 F St., for a calf on the wrong side of the fence. Caller said it was trying to get back on the right side but was about to fall in the water. The mom cow was trying to help the baby, too, and several cows moved into the area. The calf was rescued. He could fit under the fence the whole time but just didn’t want to go back to mom.

I do not blame that calf at all. If I were a cow, I would also run away to the dog park. Dogs seem to have way more fun than cows!
